Cascata Sa Stiddiosa

Sardinia is characterized by streams that, before flowing into the sea, cross scarps and during the rainy season create striking waterfalls.

Sa Stiddiosa, stands out from the others for having a continuous and incessant trickle of water (stiddiosa in the Sardinian language means dripping), produced by a mountain source that flows across a rocky and protruding wall overlooking the Rio Flumendosa in Barbagia. Rich in calcareous sediments deposited by the continuous flow of water, the wall is largely covered by hydrophilous vegetation, mainly maidenhair. The emerald green color of the natural pool where the water drips and the luxuriant surrounding vegetation make this falls a small corner of paradise that evokes exotic places and, as a consequence, is often swarmed by tourists and locals alike.
