Su Gologone Karst Spring

Su Gologone is a splendid karst source that looks like a small lake surrounded by two high walls of dolomite rock, where crystalline water is colored with shades ranging from turquoise to deep blue, depending on the brightness and angle of the sun. The spring emerges from a crack in the limestone rock, which emerges from the subsoil at a depth of over a 100 meters. Thanks to an average flow of 500 liters per second, it feeds the Rio Cedrino and constitutes one of the most important sources of water in Sardinia. The stunning scene is enriched by the lush vegetation of the surrounding Supramonte.
