Tiscali
A deep sinkhole of karstic origin located in the Supramonte plateau, Tiscali is a destination for many hikers who visit it just for the wild and suggestive path that reaches it. Inside the dolina there is a small millennial forest of holm oaks and lentisks, but above all a famous Nuragic village, concealed until you reach the interior. Built between the 15th and the 8th century BC along the walls of the sinkhole, the village is composed of two agglomerations of huts whose origins are mysterious due to architectural differences with most other Nuragic sites. The particular location, and the water collection system, suggest that the inhabitants took refuge inside for long periods of time and perhaps represented a defensive redoubt against Roman invaders.
