The Water Tour
Like a spring when its explosive force grows and becomes a river that runs towards the sea, penetrating, in its path, to the very depths of the earth, our Water itinerary will let you discover some of the most suggestive and interesting corners of Sardinia, where the theme of water is linked to the history and landscape.
Together we will go to Su Gologone, a karst spring that emerges from a crack in the limestone rock, and which originates in a small basin colored with shades ranging from turquoise to deep blue before feeding the Cedrino river, all immersed in rich and luxuriant vegetation.
Water, the source of life, with its infinite benefits, was always celebrated by the most ancient populations. This is why we will visit the well temple of Su Tempiesu and the holy well of the Nuragic Sanctuary of Santa Vittoria, both dedicated to the worship of water and each abundant with fascinating and captivating features and curiosities.
Another emblematic place for the ancient populations of Sardinia was the village of Sa Sedda ‘e Sos Carros, an ancient nuragic forge and, above all, a sacred area where ablutions and other religious rites related to the cult of water were practiced.
Not far away, we also will visit the Corbeddu and Sa Oche caves to show you the “architectural” power of water and its erosive force, as well as the nature of the subsoil.
The same erosive force of water carved the most spectacular canyon in Europe, the Gorropu Gorge in Urzulei, one of the most fascinating attractions of the entire itinerary, with its altitude and the rich and luxuriant vegetation of the Supramonte, offering generous excursions suitable for both experts and families.
Along the Flumendosa river, in the Seulo commune, Sa Stiddiosa waterfall is yet another fascinating stop on this itinerary. A true masterpiece of nature, Sa Stiddiosa (stiddiosa in the Sardinian language means “dripping”) is a true natural paradise that will strike you also for the pleasant climate, the luxuriant nature and the well-being that you can taste on the air in this place that seems to have emerged due to the charms of a gracious magician.
A tour of water that does not take into account the turquoise seas and wonderful beaches of Sardinia would be impossible. And we will discover this beauty by taking a mini cruise of the Gulf of Orosei, where we will sink our gaze into the crystalline blue of the sea that bathes some of the most evocative bays of the island, set between high cliffs covered with Mediterranean scrub.
A worthy conclusion to this journey will be the tasting the famous and inimitable filu ‘e ferru, a typical Sardinian grappa, known all over the world for its rich and round flavor and whose transparency closely resembles water.
